I'm looking to glue large plastic gems to gauze (think tutu material) - does anyone know what kind of glue I am best to use? I'm guessing pva, but its just a guess.Thanks.
To a standard where you'd be interested in teaching?I posted a little while ago about costume-making courses, which we're developing, and we've gotten to the stage of having some info about what we could teach - now we just need to find teachers. So if anyone on here has those skills, or knows someone who does, please get in touch with me! Hello there. I have gone a bit mad on pattern buying recently and so due to space I have gone through my pattern collection to see if there are any I can sell to make room. Here is the link to my photobucket album with pictures and prices. If you would like to purchase any of these, please do PM me and I will let you know the total plus postage and packing (generally between 80p and £1.25 for the first pattern and if more, then will be done by weight). If you are happy with the total then I will be happy to accept Paypal, the address for which I will give you. If you have any questions do let me know. Thank you very much.
Some folks have suggested this might be a good place to ask for ideas/feedback on a venture the company I work for is looking at.We currently run basic DIY courses, and we're now opening a new workshop venue. Now we've got dedicated space, we're recruiting teachers and planning courses on a lot of other topics, not just DIY. One of the suggestions we've had is some kind of costume making for LARPers. As I'm a LARPer, I've volunteered to do a little research - we're trying to get a feel for what the demand might be like, and what people might like to learn.Thoughts so far have included bags/pouches, cloaks and corsets, but I know that's far from exhaustive! So if anyone out there has thoughts on the type of things they'd be interested in learning (ideally to a sufficient extent they'd be willing to come to London and pay to do so!) it would be fantastic to hear. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/opinions...
Frustratingly, I had a customer do a runner on me, so I've a black elven-styled coat and a dark green silk-linen tunic. There's a full write up of the elven outfit here. Both items are tiny and I'm having trouble even finding someone they'd fit (a women's size 8 or a men's small). I'm happy for the coat to go for £65 and the tunic for £30. Drop me an email?

I'm looking to get a Georgian style wig, but the only ones I've seen online are the ones from Smiffys or Rubies fancy dress and from what I can recall there good for about one use.I was wondering if anyone knew of a more professional wig supplier who would stock an appropriate style.
I'm hoping to get a waistcoat made using some fab material that I have and I thought this would be a good place to start asking whether anyone knows of someone who'd be able to make it?I can arrange to have the fabric sent to you and for it's return, to determine whether it's suitable. I'm aiming to have it ready for February next year, but it's not essential to have it by then.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone - I do hope you can help, as I'm having little luck at the moment.I'm looking for somewhere I can buy priestly clothing, for a fairly tall, thin guy. It needs to be red, not black, and preferably without crosses etc on it. I'm ideally looking for a cassock, hood, and perhaps a chasuble. These are going to be modified into a costume for an Adeptus Mechanicus member (Tech Priest).I don't have a huge budget - so most places that sell actual priests vestments are out of my price range. Alternatively, do you know of a good costume maker who would be able to make some things like these (for under £200-ish)? Especially good if they can do some embriodery/applique/etc of cogs and skulls!
I am looking to buy a chain mail shirt for an event at the end of this month... I was going to buy from Primal Forge as they had been reccomended to me, as reasonably good quality (having seen some people get super cheap chain from ebay that has then fallen apart in a few hours) but they have sold out of my size... . I am very hampered on budget, and most of the other sites I have seen are vastly more expensive, but I dont know if anyone on here can reccomend a UK mail order site with reasonably priced, reasonable quality steel chain mail shirts Thanks so much.
