I'm hoping to get a waistcoat made using some fab material that I have and I thought this would be a good place to start asking whether anyone knows of someone who'd be able to make it?

I can arrange to have the fabric sent to you and for it's return, to determine whether it's suitable.

I'm aiming to have it ready for February next year, but it's not essential to have it by then.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Fiona

I'd happily do that. Email me at this username @cantab.net (also I will probably see you at a London frothmeet sometime, saving you postage)

Maelstrom - 2

And just in case you aren't aware of Rosie's awesomeness, here's a comment of high recommendation. :)

If you're looking for a costume maker then I'd recommend Velvet Glove (http://www.velvetglove.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/) - they'll happily use your material for things, which can save monies!

Oh yes, I've seen them at Maelstrom and had meant to pop in to ask, but never got round to it.

It's good to know that they make stuff as well as sell it and thanks for the recommendation.

No worries. I get most of my soft kit (and some of my armour) from George at Velvet Glove - her prices are really good and the quality is excellent.

My friend katexxxxxx gives good 18th Century. She and I are making our gowns together, as masquerade will be her first UK freeforms event, but she has loads of dress making experieince. If you Pm her via LJ, tell her you are a friend of mine.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've decided to go with RJW, but would it be OK to pass on your friends details to my girlfriend? She's coming to Masquerade too and I'm not sure if she's got her gown sorted out yet.
